From previous episode: Carly accepts Ben’s previous proposal for marriage. Celia is upset over how close she was to being injured in the bike crash she was in. She thinks Lance & Martin should pay for their antics. Martin says Lance has taken the sentimental bike to a panel beater to get fixed. Emma and Viv talk about the new teacher they will be getting to replace Andrew Foley after he goes to India. Carly tells Tom she has said yes to Ben’s proposal. Tom is awkward about it because it was their first date. Carly explains how Tom did the same thing with Pippa when they first met. Celia and Andrew congratulate Ben and Carly. Ben doesn’t want to call his parents to tell them yet. He mentions there are many relatives on his side of the family. Martin thinks about joining the army while looking at the back cover of a video. Tom talks to Carly about how sudden her decision was. He hopes she’s doing the right thing. Tom also thinks Carly should tell her father. She says she will as long as Tom is the one who gives her away. Celia tells Alf & Donald about Carly’s engagement. Celia seems to have already started planning it. Marilyn congratulates Carly on the engagement and mentions that they should have a double wedding (Lance and Marilyn are obviously soon to be wed). Grant tells Emma that it would be best if they didn’t go on the date they had planned. Emma is annoyed and upset. Bobby talks to Carly about Ben. Bobby thinks Carly’s doing the wrong thing, but then reveals she’s just jealous. Bobby received divorce papers from Frank 1 year after they’re split. Carly looks for Ben. Martin tells her he left earlier in uniform saying he’s going back to base. Carly wonders if he’ll come back. Celia gives Carly an engagement present. It’s a book in Italian. Ben shows up telling Carly he would never leave without saying goodbye first. He proposes properly to Carly while on one knee. He puts a ring on her finger. Andrew leaves for India.
