Bridget organises a day with Emma in the city, she is annoying Ailsa. Marilyn nags Adam about the mess in the house. Ben and Carly are going ahead with the wedding but Steven thinks it's too soon; Viv invites him on a picnic. Carly wants Alf to give her away in Tom's place. Bridget and Ailsa fall out over Emma. Ailsa goes to see Pippa who is going through Tom's clothes, she tells Ailsa that she dreamt he was still alive. Steven tells Viv about his fight with Carly and talks about Tom. Marilyn wants to make toffee for the Fletchers. Pippa worries that Steven and Sally may want to leave now they have no Father. Ailsa tells her about her problems with Bridget and Emma. Steven thanks Viv for taking him out on a picnic. Adam and Matt ruin Marilyn's toffee, she goes mad. Viv gets a letter from her sister and she and Steven decide to try and help her. Matt, Adam and Marilyn get toffee all over the kitchen floor. Viv's sister has run away.
