At the Diner Alf comments to Donald and Marilyn about the play and that he liked it and when is the next production going to be? Donald is a little embarrassed but Alf doesn’t notice. Steven arrives and when he make polite conversation with Donald and Marilyn, Donald puts his foot in it, when he mentions Selina, barely being out of school. He’s put in his place, when Steven remarks that the five year age gap between him and Selina, is far less than the twenty five years between him and Marilyn. With that, he leaves an embarrassed Marilyn and stunned Donald and goes home where he finds Sally in a bad mood. When Justine comes down with one of her dresses and asks if she can borrow it, Sally refuses and takes it from her and goes upstairs. Donald’s in a bad mood when he and Marilyn return home and when he sees the drink stain on the carpet, he’s not pleased with Casey’s flippant attitude and tells her so. Next morning Casey is practicing the piano and Fisher points out, she should have done last night. He tells her that when the baby arrives, she won’t be able to practice when it’s asleep and then reminds her to have another go at getting the stain out of the carpet. Casey gets annoyed and is once again, rude to him.
Justine takes delivery of a parcel for Sally but she makes the mistake of being too curious and opens it, to find a dress in it, just as Sally comes in. Sally’s furious and when Justine asks what’s it for, Sally says she’ll probably send it back!
At the Diner, Justine moans to Joey about Sally’s attitude and he can’t believe it. Then Tim comes in and when he sits down with her, she warns him to be careful, because Sally might get the wrong idea again. Jesse tells Marilyn that he’s going to see Rachel and when Marilyn talks about her baby, Jesse reflects on what might have been, if he and Selina had stayed together.
Steven takes a bunch of flowers round to Selina and he tells her that the job at the hospital is almost at an end and they will have to make the most of what time they have left. They kiss and Steven decides to take her out for a romantic lunch and make an afternoon of it. Selina goes to see Marilyn at the Salon, to ask her a favour. She tells her that Steven’s taking her out and would she mind coming round to her place and doing her hair because she feels uncomfortable having it done in the Salon. Marilyn agrees and later on, Selina looks a million dollars.
At school, Casey talks to Joey about the article in the school rag on the play and can’t believe the re-write that Fisher did, criticizing his own performance. In the classroom, she tells Fisher she’s read the article and that Joey did a good job, but the way she said it, annoys Fisher and she left wondering what she’s done know!! At the Diner, Casey moans to Marilyn about Fisher’s attitude towards her but Marilyn points out, that it’s not all his fault, that she must take some of the blame, for the way she acts towards him. Justine comes in and shows Tim the school rag about an award ceremony that Sally’s attending and it explains why Sally’s been behaving irrational. He goes over to see Sally to talk and they make up. When Justine returns home, Sally and Justine also make up.
Steven and Selina enjoy a meal in a restaurant and Steven proposes to her and she’s stunned.
At Donald’s, Casey tries to make amends and attempts to clean the carpet, helped by Aaron. Fisher comes in and once again Casey’s attitude rubs him up the wrong way and she’s stunned that he wants her to leave when the baby’s born.
It ends back at the restaurant, where Selina tells Steven she thinks the timing’s all wrong but he tells her he has no intention of leaving Summer Bay until she becomes his wife. He takes her hand and slips an engagement ring on her finger and asks her again, to marry him and this time she say YES.
