Casey moans to everyone in sight about the way she’s being treated by Fisher and when Rebecca hears about it, she confronts her father. As they discuss the matter, Casey comes up and once again, she’s insolent to him. As she walks off, he calls her back and tells her he’s had enough of her behaviour and want her out within the week. He leaves and for once, the girl is left speechless.

As Steven and Selina discuss their wedding plans, Irene and Ailsa are talking about them in the Diner. Irene tells her that Steven will be heading back to the city soon and Selina’s got her studies to do, so she doesn’t think she’s got much to worry about! So, when Selina comes in later and announces she’s to be married, Irene flips and starts ranting at her, in front of all the customers. They are still arguing when they get home and no matter what Selina says, Irene won’t budge. Selina tells her that Steven has changed and has made something of himself and she’s got to get used to it, because it’s going to happen.

At lunch time, Marilyn returns home with a stroller for the baby, given to her by a woman who’s just had twins. Donald breaks the news about asking Casey to leave when their baby is born and Marilyn is shocked. But he insists it’s in the baby’s best interest and leaves Marilyn no choice, but to agree.

Next day, just as the kids are about to go to school, Pippa’s Dad returns from his trip abroad, laden with presents. He hands out Sam and Sally’s but Pippa takes them and tells them they must leave. Justine comes down and is introduced to Bert and he jokes about calling her Buttercup, after a cow he had, which had a ring in it’s nose, just like the one she’s got. Justine just smiles at him and then leaves. Later on, Bert shows her some photos of his trip and he now feels his life is complete and thanks her for making him go in the first place. Steven comes in and breaks the news about his engagement and the wedding, which will be in five weeks.

At the Diner, Donald and Ailsa are talking about having kids in later life when Selina comes in to break the news of her engagement to everyone. As she is being congratulated, Jesse comes in, unnoticed, and then leaves, without saying a word. He returns to the Bait Shop and when Travis comes in later, he tells him he’s livid that Selina didn’t tell him first.

Justine is down in the dumps over her appearance and admits to Sally that she’s jealous of her. It doesn’t help, when at school, Fisher has a go at her for the way she’s dressed. Later on, she’s on the beach with her brother, Aaron and talks to him about it. Casey joins them and when she tells them about having to leave within the week, Justine informs her that Fisher can’t evict her because, by law, he has to give her two months’ notice!

Bert’s helping Pippa get a meal ready and tells her he got upgraded to Business Class on his flight home and was very impressed. When Justine comes in, Bert upsets her by quoting a line from ‘The Owl and the Pussy Cat’ about a piggy with a ring on the end of it’s nose. He says he can’t understand the younger generation’s idea of fashion, when the old way is better – dressing smartly. Justine goes off in a huff.

At the Diner Donald tells Ailsa about his altercation with Casey and realises it wasn’t in keeping with his role as Headmaster of Summer Bay. She tries to make him feel justified for his outburst and that if he apologises to Casey, she will understand. But he says it’s gone beyond that and quite frankly, he finds thought of Casey’s departure, a relief.

At the beach house, Steven and Selina talk about how the town appears to be split over their engagement. When Steven asks her when she’s going to talk to Jesse, she says she’ll do it tomorrow.

The atmosphere at the Fisher’s is strained as Donald, Marilyn, Rebecca and Casey have tea, and when Casey compliments Marilyn on the cake she made, Donald gets up, to go upstairs but Casey stops him in his tracks.

It ends when she tells him that she rang the Tenancy Services earlier on and he can’t evict her. He has to give her two months’ notice and if she doesn’t comply, he’ll then have to evict her, which will probably take another month. With great delight, she tells him that if he forces her to leave, he’ll be fined $20,000. The smug look on her face, has Donald seething…
