Aaron is taken aback after Ailsa hands him a napkin with Joey's handwriting, calling him a "lobster demon". Aaron thinks Joey is not on drugs but has a mental problem. Irene reaches the end of her tether and gives Joey an ultimatum - he is to get off the drugs and seek help, or he can pack his bags and move out. Joey does not say much, to Irene's frustration. Alf unhides his father's gun and marvels at its appearance, but hides it quickly when Ailsa and Duncan return home from the shopping trip. Duncan accidentally drops a packet of crisps, and in retrieving it, he finds a box under the table. He asks Alf as to its contents, and Ailsa finds that it's a gun. Ailsa thought that he gave it to the police, but he got it back as he now has a heirloom licence. Ailsa allows him keep it on two conditions - that he keeps the gun hidden away and unlocked; Duncan is to be advised on the dangers of guns. James kisses Chloe, but is pushed back as soon Olivia cries. Jesse advises him to show Chloe that he is serious. James talks to Chloe - Chloe says she's not ready for a relationship, at which point James says he understands, and he'll wait, but he would not be waiting forever. Joey talks to himself on the beach about a 'simple solution' and laughs about it, before diving into the sea for a swim. Irene is stunned when Joey returned home, soaking wet, in someone else's clothes he found on the beach. Tiegan reluctantly agrees to talk to Joey after Aaron convinces her that she may be the only one Joey would listen to. Tiegan pays a visit to Joey, only to be called an 'evil slut' and is ordered to get out. His behaviour gives Irene a nasty scare. James is organising a dinner for two, and Marilyn passes the news to Jesse, who has just come in the Diner. Ailsa has just finished her last trauma counselling session and drives Duncan on the way from the dentist. Ailsa drives carelessly around the bend, almost running another car over. Ailsa has a nasty experience when the irate driver then pursues after Ailsa and crashes into the rear of her car, and Duncan is frightened...
