Chloe and James arrive at Diana's house for Lachie's memorial service. Chloe is just managing to control her emotions and has assured James that she will act as if they are still together. James says a few words about Lachie at the funeral and we hear Chloe in her head saying how jealous James was of Lachie. As James go back to his seat he puts his arm around Chloe but she pulls away Diana sees this. Not long after the service has finished Diana asks James and Chloe to stay for the night. They agree after persuasion after Chloe had mentioned Olivia but Diana said she was sure Irene could look after her for the night.

The following day Chloe and James are leaving when James is taken aside by Diana and pressurised about adopting Olivia. James tells her to leave alone for the moment and Diana asks if he and Chloe are having problems, he says no just that they are coping with a lot of stress at the moment. Irene has brought Olivia round to Marilyn's so she can look after her for the afternoon and they both say to each other that they hope the fact they stayed together at Diana's is a good sign.

However when James and Chloe arrive back in Summer Bay he rips into her for her lack of sympathy she showed when he needed comfort the most. He says to her that he does not know what he saw in her in the first place and that she is selfish. He tells her that she has ten minutes to pack and leave.

Peta tells Will that she has got a final court summons for her gran to attend jury duty. Will proposes that Peta pretend to be ill and receive a Doctor's certificate which they can change the name on to Peta's gran. Peta is not convinced by the idea so they decide to find a sick bag lady to pretend to be Peta's gran. They find a sick woman called Annie and talk her into coming home with her.

A film producer Roger Landsdowne arrives in the bay intent on persuading Donald Fisher to sell him the rights to film On The Crest of A Wave. Donald as expected is not keen at first as the book he feels portrayed him wrongly. However Roger has a trick up his sleeve he flatters Marilyn when he meets her at the Diner and tells her how good she would be in one of the roles if the film gets made. He tells her it's a pity that her husband won't change his mind.

At school Sam has told Hayley about the offer to film On the Crest of a Wave and when Donald discovers this Sam is given a lecture about discussing family matters outside of the home. Donald later talks to Marilyn about the film wondering if he has made his mind up too quickly. Marilyn tells him to think about what Alan would have wanted. Vinnie overhears Donald talking and rushes off hoping to be in the film. Donald decides to sell the film rights and Roger makes him a script advisor.
