Rebecca Croft

Rebecca Croft was born in Sydney on 20 August, 1978.

She says it was a case of 'third time lucky' when she auditioned for and won the role of Casey. She said, "I had tried out for two roles before but I just had a good feeling about Casey. I don't really think I am like her. But that's what I love about acting...you get to play so many different characters that are not like you. Casey is pretty headstrong, she knows what she wants and she says what she thinks."

When Rebecca was six, she began ballet classes and around the same time, her brother Jamie started working on Channel Seven's A Country Practice.

Rebecca started doing some acting classes with an agency, Keane Kids. Since then,she has done some commercials, including Greater Union.

In 1995, Rebecca toured the US for one month with a group of 13-20 year old dancers. They did not have much time for sightseeing but did manage to take some classes at the prestigious Alvin Alley Dance Theatre in New York. Rebecca said of this, "It was a fantastic experience, but acting is my first love."

Outside work, Rebecca enjoys going to the movies and seeing bands; her favourite groups are Smashing Pumpkins, You am I, Nirvana. Her favourite singers are Alanis Morrissette and Bjork.

Rebecca's first episode as Casey was episode 1963, which was first broadcast on 10 July 1996.
