Leah

Leah Poulos

Leah hitchhiked herself into the hearts of HandA fans back in March 2000. In my opinion, Leah is one of the hottest chicks ever having hit the Bay. Vinnie didn't have the heart to make Leah wait for another drive to pick her up but he soon regretted this gentleman-like deed of his since she hadn't stopped talking for tick on their ride back to Summer Bay. For starters, it didn't seem that they ever could become a dream item let alone to get along for more than 10 minutes. Leah looked out for a shelter thus Vinnie told her to get (lost) to the Caravan Park. But weird enough there wasn't any spare van left over. Horny bachelor Tom had the hots for her as soon as he laid his eyes on her and invited her to stay with him at his place. Startled Vinnie couldn't believe his eye when seeing Leah coming out of the shower and nearly made her hit the road again but then apologised and told her that he couldn't get over his Sally-not-sending-him-a-postcards-neither-phoning-him thing and Leah was cool about it. Tom also had an eye on this hot chick and wanted to spend an evening on his own along with Leah and thus told Vinnie to head for the movies but poor Tom, Leah headed along with him.

Then this Leah-being-a-serial-murderer-scare emerged hence Leah opened her heart to let them know that she'd done horrible things no one would be ever able to forgive her. Then it turned out than she only was a run-away bride and Greece Teddy turned up at Vinnie's doorway to find out why Leah dumped him on their wedding day. Teddy seemed to be very understandable and left shortly afterwards. Leah literally spiced up their lives but really fell in love with Vinnie the day when he went out on this rubber boat to look for ”missing” Duncan. All these muscles of his, all this energy... Leah was really more than impressed and all seemed to be smooth sailing... Vinnie's idea of cooking Ailsa into giving yakka at the Diner didn't backfire at all for a change and upgraded her to the Diner's cuisine chief in fact. She didn't get along with busy-body Colleen Smart at the very beginning hence she wasn't into Greek meals at all and also found it hard to memorise Greek meals and spices but all was set for a change the day Leah's dad gate-crashed at Vinnie's.

Mr Poulos first and maybe right impression of Vinnie was that he's a no-hoper and nearly revealed him being nought more than a greedy scumbag when offering him $50,000 to dump Leah for good. Mr Fisher's evidence wasn't favourable either thus Mr Polous rejected his daughter as she refused to come with him. He told her that she was no longer a daughter of his.

Hurting inside, Leah went back to work and Mr Polous determined to have some decent meal before leaving town went to the Diner to find heaps of Greek meals on its menu. Colleen was pleased to let Leah know that some stranger showed profound interests in her Greek way of cooking and Leah nearly bursting of curiosity was about to interrogate this fellow just as her dad was studying the menu and nearly got the heart attack of her lifetime.

Dad tried several dishes but did not finish any of them thus Leah presumed he had to be very disappointed of them but it rather was the other way round hence dad asked to meet the cook but Colleen told him that she...ahem…HE was very busy till Leah was caught out since dad couldn't withstand this temptation any longer... Mr Polous was sort of very proud of his daughter although he didn't admit it right from the start. Leah tried to make her dad see that Vinnie was a decent bloke but failed big time when the both of them caught him in the act reading some playboy-like magazine while ”baywatching”. But still, Mr Polous reconsidered the whole matter and gave them his blessing.... for the time being
