Marilyn Chambers/Fisher

Marilyn is the oldest teenager we know - she is a bubbly woman who brings joy and happiness in the Bay. She runs a hair and beauty salon.

Marilyn is a sweet person, that when there are times of trouble, you can go up to her and she'll give you some good old-fashioned advice.

Fisher helped her with her education in the early years. Amazingly, years later, she likes him and got married to him.

When she got pregnant with baby Byron, she felt that the baby in her arms was not really hers, as she felt nothing towards him. She suffered post-natal depression and left Fisher for a few months.

Young Marilyn

When she returned, she found a housekeeper there, by the name of Ellen Porter, she felt she was an unfit mother when she compared herself to Ellen. Marilyn had become suspicious of Fisher's favouritism towards Ellen and became jealous; even Fisher admitted he was not sure whether he loved her. Now, both Fisher and Marilyn have sorted things out.

Marilyn gave birth to baby Byron, who was later diagnosed with cancer. Marilyn and Fisher disputed over where to care for Byron. She left for America with Byron.

After Byron's death, Marilyn disappeared and never returned. She wrote to Fisher saying that she is not returning.

EMILY SYMONS

She was born in Sydney on 10 August 1969. Her mother remarried when she was just four years old and Emily didn't see her real dad again until 10 years later.

She left school before finishing her exams and launched herself into the acting world. For nearly a year, she worked in shops before getting a break in a post office training video.

Emily went to auditions for home and Away dressed as the A-Z of tartiness, wearing a tight-fitting little white dress, stilettos, earrings and bangles. She got the job.

Emily admits to being a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe and has a house full of her pictures. She gets a real kick out of playing the soap Marilyn although she sometimes feels 'like a pair of breasts on legs'.

Shortly after leaving Home and Away, Emily developed an eating problem and lost a stone in weight. When producers called her in for talks, she knew she had to sort herself out.

Her love life was a bumpy one: in 1990, she called off her engagement to Craig Simpson, a crew member on Home and Away, before marrying British musician Nick Lipscombe. They split up in 1994 and Emily says she's happily single.
