Pippa's brother, Danny, who is wheelchair bound, scares her when he asks her to kill him. Pippa and Tom discover his wheelchair at the bottom of the cliff, and are led to believe he is dead. He turns up later, and Pippa tells him that he must explain to Tom, or else leave the house. 

Roo's boyfriend, Brett, gets her pregnant. After hearing the news, he wants her to have an abortion and even offers her money. She does not want to kill the baby, but he is determined to do so. When he calls to take her to the abortion clinic, she runs away
