Australia

Home and Away is filmed in Sydney, New South Wales, in this country. Most of the filming is done in Seven Network studios. The Beachside Diner, the Drop In Centre, the interior of the Surf Club, the interior of the Sutherlands' house, to name a few, are filmed there. Outside scenes such as the Beachside Diner, the exterior of the Surf Club, the beach, are filmed in Palm Beach, over an hour drive north of Sydney.

The programme is shown on Seven Network and regional TV stations such as Prime in Queensland, Southern Cross in Tasmania and GWN in Western Australia. Times vary from state to state and are also due to time differences. The usual time is 7:00pm, with 6:30pm for Tasmania. Tasmania is a few weeks behind mainland Australia.

Despite the soap being made there, Australia was behind Ireland by 1 episode in January 2000. The rerun started from pilot episode on 31 May 1999, but ceased, though it still runs on some stations; initially shown at 11:00am but now shown at 4:30pm. Subtitles for both old and current episodes on page 801 in Australian/American English, with English spoken language.
