Visits in Australia during 2001
Palm Beach visits
Palm Beach is situated in the Northern Beaches, a two hour drive from Sydney
(New South Wales), and can be reached by public transport. The trip on the
bus takes 1:45hr. Filming may occur one at a time or a few at a time in different
spots. Scenes used for filming are the exterior of the Surf Club, the beach
down the path from the Surf Club and also on the grassy area parallel to the
beach. You are not allowed to interrupt when filming is underway. Only when
filming stops and cast members are free to walk around, can you approach them.
When they have their breaks, they sit at the tables and you are not allowed
to speak to them. Filming does not take place every day and takes place almost
every week. Days of filming are given on the Friday before.
I went four times to see filming and the episode numbers they filmed for
are below. You can make comparisions by watching the episodes and checking
the photos on the following pages. To see when the episodes are due to come
on air or when it has been broadcast, refer to the episode
guide. Information is provided at the bottom of each photo
March - filming was for episode 3057
April - episode 3078 was filmed
May - episode 3105
December - episode 3231
Filming takes place at Palm Beach once a week, though not every week. Filming
occurs at the start of the week, so you may catch them between a Monday and
Wednesday.
In the public
I went to see a play in Newtown and met Stephen James King (who played Edward
Dunglass) and Anna Hruby (who played Judith Ackroyd) there. They are involved
in the deaf community and have full knowledge of Sign Language. They are very
friendly. I have also met Judy Nunn who was signing books that I took a day
off work to meet her! She acted in a play in Glebe. Click

Studio visit
Ms Supple took me around Seven Network studios. During the tour, I met Martin
Dingle-Wall, Rebecca Cartwright, Susie Rugg. More information is provided
with photos. Click here
If you want to go visit the studios, there is no guarantee that you could
visit them. Please see question 10 in Victoria's
interview why. You can visit Palm Beach - see above
