Ireland is the first country is the world behind Australia showing the pilot episode in October 1988 in coincidence with the renaming of RTÉ 2 to Network 2. Episodes were initially shown on Network 2 around 6:30pm. It has only been a few years since the programme was introduced to RTÉ One with a showing at 1:25pm. During 2000, the programme time slot in the evening was changed to 7:00pm. Episodes are currently shown on weekdays at 1:25pm on RTÉ One with repeats at 6:30pm on N2 (Network 2) and are in UK English, with subtitles for hard of hearing on page 888.
