We've been waiting for this moment for ages and now it's here.
The time has finally come for Leah's first date with her good
friend Jesse! While brave young widow Leah (Ada Nicodemou) has
a definite case of the jitters, Jesse (Ben Unwin) is determined
to do everything he can to ensure the night is just perfect for
her. Preparing a low-key dinner, he lights candles and puts some
romantic music on the CD player.
"Both Leah and Jesse are feeling quite nervous about the
date because they know it could lead to things down the track,"
Ben says. "There's a lot riding on this evening, because
it's been such a long time coming

Kwanten Up for Superman Role? Thursday, January 2, 2003
Scooper 'Cheadle' says that director Brett Ratner may be eyeing
an actor Down Under for the role of Superman...
Seems they are looking for Brits or Aussies, The Guardian
says Ratner has met a couple of times with a Sydney actor
called Ryan Kwanten.
According to his rap sheet, he appeared as Vinnie Patterson on
the soapie "Home and Away" and recently left to pursue
other work. Apparently Ratner likes his build and acting ability.
Stay tuned for more news on the casting!
Although so far the only TV stations in Canada that seems to
play Home and Away episodes is the Global TV Network (Canada-wide).
They are showing reruns from the year 2000 (in fact they just
showed the 2000 season ended with Ailsa having a heart attack).
Here is some neat info on home and away in Canada. Although it
might not be 100% accurate (maybe 50% as I discovered this info
while trying to find stations that air the episodes in Canada).
Did you know that the two hour beginning episode was first shown
in Canada in 1988? It was used to launch the Canadian TV channel
called Youth Television (YTV) a station that is still on today.
At that time they were only a few months behind from what was
airing in Australia. They ran the show until around 1990 when
it lost interest with the viewers. They then reran the first couple
of years(1988/89) in 1995/1996 (one to two hour length) but it
was late at night and was replaced in 1997 with different programming.
I thought the show was cancelled until I discovered on the web
(1997) how many episodes were made and are being made in Australia.
I then waited until the show would appear again in Canada. It
was a 5 year wait.
After that it seems the show was not on TV in Canada until Global
TV picked it up in 2002 with the H&A 2000 season. It's been
a pain because I've had to switch to 2 different global stations
(as each one seems to cancel the show without notice) The one
station that still shows it is called CHBC. It's out of Kelowna
(a small city in the interior of British Columbia Canada). How
long will the show be on in Canada is anybody's guess.
The show is not popular with Canadians. I don't know why because
I think it's a lot better than the soaps we get from the states
(but that is my
opinion).
The CBC (Canada's main Broadcasting corporation) has been airing
Coronation Street for year and that show is very popular in this
country. If H&A gets cancelled again I think I'm going to
try to convince CBC to air it. After all CBC is funded by Canadian
Tax dollars:)
I hope this info helps
Thanks
